On a 2-day visit to England, the Danish delegation met with organisations that included BEIS, Ofwat, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and CEPA with the objective to learn more about the UK's utilities sector, hear the first-hand experiences of different market participants and to share opinions about the challenges and opportunities the organisations face now and in the future.
Following an introduction by Mark Cockburn, CEPA’s managing director, presentations were made by directors Patrick Taylor and Attila Hajos and by Ben Shafran, a managing consultant on topics that included: facilitating the energy transition, the security of supply and evolving the regulatory model.
The presentations and accompanying slides, which are available to download, prompted many interesting questions and were followed by much discussion about CEPA’s experiences and predictions for the sector. The discussion was only brought to an end as the delegation’s schedule demanded. However, having established these new links in Denmark, CEPA looks forward to continuing the conversations in the coming months.
If you are involved in the utilities sector or another environment which may face similar challenges and would like to speak to a member of the CEPA team, please contact Richard Rodger by email or T. +44 (0)20 7269 0210 to find out more.
