15th October 2013CEPA recently supported the development of the PMNCH 2013 Report on Commitments to the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health (the Global Strategy).
The Global Strategy aims to save 16 million lives in 49 countries by 2015 through enhanced financing, strengthened policy and improved service delivery. It was launched by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in September 2010, alongside the Every Woman Every Child movement
The objective of the PMNCH 2013 Report was to assess the extent to which stakeholders that have made commitments to the Global Strategy have implemented their commitments, and the extent to which implementation is contributing to reaching the goals of the Global Strategy.
The 2013 report was launched at the sixty-eighth session of the UN General Assembly on 22 September 2013, which was attended by nearly 150 Ministers, UN leaders, NGOs, private sector managers, and academic experts, and can be accessed here.
