Consultant: regulatory economics
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our London office as a Consultant, supporting our work across regulatory economics.
Location: London, UK
Position: Consultant – Regulatory Economics
Role
The successful candidate will support our work across regulated sectors (energy, water, transport and telecoms) and will have the following responsibilities:
- Deliver and communicate more complex analysis for CEPA’s clients.
- Providing well-reasoned and informed consulting advice on regulatory economics issues.
- Produce sections of reports, proposals or models that are close to ‘client ready’.
- Play an active role in supporting the capability building of at least one practice or service line e.g. sharing knowledge of external developments or analytical techniques.
- Carrying out more complex regular business operation activities.
Requirements
Experience – Preferably at least 3 years of professional experience in providing regulatory economics advisory services through economic and financial analysis. This may be in consultancy, for regulated companies, regulators or government departments.
Expertise – Demonstrated experience in regulatory economics, with emerging specialism of value to potential clients; this expertise can be in regulatory finance, regulatory framework design, incentives, evaluations and assessing efficient costs.
Technical skills – Proficiency working in Microsoft Teams. Additional software and programming skills may be an advantage.
Team working – Experience working in teams, meeting deadlines and working effectively in a team.
Communication skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex ideas to different audiences.
