Mid-term evaluation of the Unitaid “Self-testing Africa (STAR)” project
CEPA was appointed to review the implementation of the first phase of Unitaid’s HIV self-testing grant to identify areas that worked well and those that worked less well, determine the extent to which the project achieved its intended impacts and provide recommendations for the next phase of the grant.
We employed a range of techniques in support of the evaluation, including desk-based review of documentation, structured interviews with key stakeholders, quantitative analysis and a field visit to one of the project countries.
