Review of the Global Task Force on Cholera Control
CEPA was appointed by the Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC) - a network of cholera experts which brings together governments, non-governmental organizations, UN agencies, and scientific institutions - to conduct an independent review of the revitalised Task Force since 2014.
The main objectives were to: (i) review the achievements of the GTFCC since its revitalization; (ii) assess the effectiveness and value-added of the GTFCC design and the current governance structure; and (iii) identify strengths and weaknesses, document lessons learnt and recommend opportunities for improvement. This review included an evaluation of how the revitalized GTFCC operates and whether its current setup can be adapted and/or strengthened to better deliver on its goal to support cholera control. Findings were presented by the CEPA team at the 4th annual meeting of the GTFCC in South Africa.
