Mitchell Scott
Consultant
Mitchell is an economist with strong theoretical foundations. Since joining the firm, he has contributed to projects in Australia and the UK, particularly in the energy, regulatory finance and telecommunications sectors.
Mitchell Scott joined CEPA’s Sydney office in 2021. Now located in London, Mitchell works closely with colleagues both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Recently, Mitchell has assisted with modelling the financeability of a regulated utility company in the United Arab Emirates, drafted the financeability section of Ofgem’s RIIO-ED2 Draft Determination, and supported competition analysis on a proposed network sharing agreement between Telstra and TPG in Australia.
Mitchell has a Bachelor of Finance, Economics and Statistics (First Class Honours), and a Bachelor of Statistics (First Class Honours) from the Australian National University. His economics thesis explored how investors and entrepreneurs search for and match with each other, while his statistics thesis pioneered a new methodology for panel data regression. He is currently undertaking a MRes/PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics. Mitchell is experienced in R and python.
