CEPA helps to define water poverty, understand future pressures & appraise UK water companies’ efforts

CEPA has been pleased to help UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) with their work designed to support decision makers and water companies in making water and sewerage bills affordable for all.

The project, carried out by CEPA and Sustainability First considered how water poverty is expected to change over the next two decades, appraised methods of measuring water poverty across the sector and looked at approaches to help tackle the issue.

The report for UKWIR, Defining Water Poverty and Evaluating Existing Information and approaches to Reduce Water Poverty, was launched at an event that was opened by United Utilities’ Ben Nadel and featured speakers including CEPA’s Lewis HeatherZoe McLeod from Sustainability First, James Hawthorne from Ofwat and Rob Wesley from Water UK.
