Review of Digital Terrestrial Television decision for TV3
CEPA advised privately owned television channel TV3 on competition issues related to transmission charges for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Ireland.
CEPA reviewed decisions by Irish telecoms regulator ComReg on historical transmission charges and on the future charging methodology that was set out by the incumbent television network. The review focused on regulatory process, relevant regulatory precedent and international comparisons.
CEPA’s report supported TV3’s engagement with the national regulator and its consideration to approach European Union competition authorities.
