Abdallah Abba Aji, M.D.
Economist
Abdallah is a medical doctor and global health Economist at CEPA, where he focuses on healthcare investment and policy, with a particular emphasis on improving access to healthcare in low- and middle-income countries. His work spans a range of projects, including quantitative health investment modelling and program evaluations that help inform policy decisions and optimise healthcare interventions.

His work spans a range of projects, including quantitative health investment modelling and program evaluations that help inform policy decisions and optimise healthcare interventions.
Abdallah has experience working within the health sector from multiple perspectives. He has worked in clinical practice, management consulting, health infrastructure financing and in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to CEPA, he worked at Ernst & Young, where he developed healthcare investment strategies and policy recommendations targeted at boosting pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing in emerging markets as part of a World Bank initiative. His previous experience also includes supporting the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority in national health infrastructure financing and development and contributing to economic modelling efforts at GSK for malaria therapeutics.
Abdallah holds a dual MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as an M.D. from Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, Italy.
